The study of the effects induced by illicit treatments in food producing animals represents the pioneering research line of the Division of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology. Studies have associated over time changes in target organs and tissues (e.g. hormonal levels, target receptor density and binding affinity) with the eventual identification of "in vivo" and/or "post mortem" markers/biomarkers.
