Morphology and cardiovascular pathology are an important area of clinical and surgical activity in pets and among all in dogs. The research activity is based on the planning of a method that includes a preliminary morphological study followed by the assessment of clinical-pathological correlations and comparative aspects with human pathology . This method is currently applied to the most important cardiovascular diseases of pets, such as feline hypertrophic myocardiopathy and myxomatous degeneration of the mitral valve in dogs, for which the main receptors at the level of the interstitial cells of the mitral valve are being studied with particular attention to an approach not only morphological and pathological but also pharmacological.
