Studies in the field of animal welfare are concerned with advancing the role of subjectivity in welfare evaluation and the possibility of studying it scientifically by means of measurable indicators. Over the time collaboration among different divisions in the Department has allowed to study stress related to livestock management (e.g. housing system and transport), exercise (sport horse) and illicit treatments.
